The A. aphidimyza is a predatory midge that has a big appetite for aphids. These midges are a flying army of true killers and will eradicate many more aphids then they need to sustain themselves. They can treat high infestations as they hunt and seek out their prey. These mighty little bugs are not so mighty against pesticide. Their larvae will drop to the ground to pupate consequently, hydroponic systems do not mix well with these bugs. Lastly, nematodes may attack A. aphidimyza larvae, so be careful to not use them at the same time.
Dosage - The information given here is a general guideline. Release rates can be affected by the stage/size of the cannabis plant, climate conditions, and level of infestation.
For preventative applications introduce 0.1 A. aphidimyza per ft² per week. For infestation applications introduce 0.5-2 A. aphidimyza per ft² per week. For heavy infestations release 5-10 A. aphidimyza in each hot spot.
Your A. aphidimyza will arrive in a 100ml or 500ml plastic bottle or tube. For preventative applications simply open the bottle or tube and gently place horizontally on the moist potting soil of plants distributed evenly throughout your crop. For infestation applications open the bottle and place horizontally on the moist potting soil of plants with any aphid hot spots.
We recommend that the A. aphidimyza is released immediately upon receipt.
If immediate release is not possible, you may store them for 1-2 days at 10-15°c with a relative humidity of 85%.
